Connie Collingsworth is the General Counsel and member of the Executive Leadership Team of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Ms. Collingsworth sits on the board of Banner Corporation, a bank holding company and serves as the Chair of its Governance and Nominating Committee. She is also Director of Premera Blue Cross, a regional heath insurance company and Chair of its Compensation Committee.
Prior to joining the foundation, Ms. Collingsworth was a partner of Preston Gates & Ellis (now K&L Gates), a leading Northwest law firm, where her practice focused on merger and acquisitions and private equity financings, including venture capital and hedge fund formation.
Connie’s nonprofit activities currently include serving as the Chair of the Honoree Committee of DirectWomen, whose mission is to increase the representation of women attorneys on corporate boards. Previous nonprofit leadership activities include serving as a board member of the Northwest Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors, Board Chair of Social Venture Partners, and Co-Founder, Board Chair and President of the French American School of Puget Sound, a full-immersion French language school.
Connie has a B.A. from Andrews University, a Juris Doctorate, from the University of Nebraska, and earned a LL.M. in International Business Legal Studies from the University of Exeter in England.
