Host Your Own WWB Event

February 13, 2012

Be Involved. Join the Conversation. Throw a Party. Start a Fundraiser.

WWB invites you to host a celebration and kick start the conversation about women. Here is a quick overview for planning and preparing for your event. We hope that our toolkit is helpful and that this celebration is an opportunity to spark your interest about women’s rights, economic empowerment, and making a difference in the lives of women and girls around the world.

STEP 1 Think of an activity that you enjoy or an event you would be interested in attending. This could be anything from hosting a dinner or tea to organizing a benefit walk or lecture.

STEP 2 Start planning and promoting your event—no group is too small!

STEP 3 Pick a day and location. Keep in mind that some venues may require rental fees or special permits/forms to hold fundraising events.

STEP 4 Use the information on WWB and facts on women’s empowerment that follow to educate yourself on the issues and help spark conversation. Visit our online newsroom for additional information. If you do not see materials that you need, contact us via e-mail or call 212.556.3129.

STEP 5 Publicize! Tell your friends and family to spread the word. Use social media. Check out our tips at the back of this guide.

STEP 6 After your event, tell us how it went. Please fill out our Tell Us What You Think form available in this toolkit. Feel free to send pictures from your gathering too, we may feature your group on our website!

STEP 7 If you decided to hold a fundraising event, please mail all event proceeds, along with the printable donation forms (available in the toolkit) to us:
