Women leaders in the network receive recognition

Women’s World Banking is proud to announce that two women leaders in its global network have recently been recipients of awards from their regions.

First, Mercedes Canalda de Beras Goico, Executive Vice-President of Banco ADOPEM, our network member in the Dominican Republic was recognized by Latinvex, an online information site on Latin American issues, as one of the top 100 most important women in Latin America. Second, Dr. Cecilia del Castillo, Executive Director of Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation (NWTF), was given the “Leading Woman in Public Sector Award” from the Women in Leadership Achievement Awards, in cooperation with Monster.com in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The award is in recognition of the efforts and initiatives of a female leader in the public sector that promote development, and presented on the first day of the Women in Leadership Forum Asia 2013, that was held at the Royale Chulan Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on March 28-29. Click here for more information regarding this award.
