The Last Mile – Banking Agents Paving the Road to Women’s Economic Empowerment
Countless low-income women around the world have to travel miles on foot to reach a bank or lack the awareness of digital financial solutions available to them via their phones. Banking agents in these regions have proven to be instrumental in economically empowering these women and increasing banks’ customer base and bottom line. So how can these banking agents be best utilized to engage with these underserved women in rural communities? What sort of banking agent models work and what models need work?
The panel will discuss various training methods and creative solutions that have both increased the number of banked women, as well as helped banks revolutionize their service model
