Position Overview

Title: Request for Qualifications (RFQ): Research Consultant
Classification: RFP
Duration of Consultancy: January 2026 - May 2026

Position Summary

Project Background:

Women’s World Banking is implementing a multi-phase initiative to design and deliver inclusive, climate-resilient insurance solutions for vulnerable and underserved worker segments in Thailand. The project addresses the growing risks posed by extreme heat and other climate-related challenges, with a focus on low- and middle-income populations, gig workers, and informal laborers. The approach combines rigorous market research, human-centered design, stakeholder engagement, and ecosystem mapping to develop scalable insurance delivery models that can be replicated across Southeast Asia. The project is managed by Women’s World Banking and will be delivered in close collaboration with local and regional partners.

Position Summary:
Women’s World Banking is seeking to lead and execute field research and data collection activities in Thailand, generating actionable insights to inform the design and implementation of inclusive insurance solutions for vulnerable worker groups. Experience in ethnographic and observational research methods—including shadowing, intercept interviews, and in-context observation of workers’ daily routines and decision-making processes—is a strong advantage.

  • Workshop and stakeholder engagement documentation, including agendas, participant lists, and summary notes.
  • Actionable recommendations for benefit design, delivery mechanisms, and communication strategies based on research findings.
  • Written contributions to final project reports, presentations, and executive summaries.
