Position Overview

Title: Request for Qualifications (RFQ): Training Consultants for Women’s World Banking Institute Programs
Classification: Full-time
Location and Duration: Primarily remote, with possible travel for in-person sessions. Consultants must be based in, or have working hours aligned with, WWB’s priority markets (from Nigeria to Indonesia).
Duration of Consultancy: One-year retainer contract with individual assignments varying in length and scope. Retainer contract is not a guarantee of work.

Summary

Women’s World Banking seeks seasoned training consultants to join our team to design and deliver transformative leadership and subject-specific training programs for policymakers and financial sector leaders in emerging markets. These initiatives will drive women’s financial inclusion, strengthen leadership capacity, and embed gender-intentional approaches into policy and regulation.

Our training programs are designed to:

  • Build executive leadership skills such as negotiation, strategic vision, and executive presence.
  • Equip leaders to navigate digital transformation in finance, including fintech, regtech, and AI.
  • Foster inclusive workplaces and cultures that prioritize diversity, equity, and gender-intentional practices.
  • Strengthen institutional capacity to deliver sustainable, scalable solutions for women’s financial inclusion

 

About the Project

Women’s World Banking seeks to expand its capacity to deliver best-in-class training programs for policymakers and financial sector leaders in emerging markets. These programs will cover:

  • Leadership, negotiation, and executive presence.
  • Gender-intentional policy and inclusive product design.
  • Fintech, regtech, AI, and strategic communications.
  • Inclusive workplaces and diversity-driven organizational culture.
  • Technical skills for digital finance and regulatory innovation.

Programs will integrate WWB’s adult learning methodology, emphasizing experiential learning, peer-to-peer exchange, reflective practice, and applied case studies from WWB’s global portfolio.

 

Objectives & Responsibilities

The Leadership Training Consultants will play a pivotal role in advancing Women’s World Banking’s mission to drive women’s financial inclusion and strengthen leadership capacity in emerging markets. The consultant will:

  • Design and Deliver Training Programs: Develop and facilitate engaging, high-impact training sessions both virtual and in-person, that are aligned with organizational goals, leadership development frameworks, and best practices in adult learning. Content should build executive leadership skills such as negotiation, strategic vision, executive presence, conflict resolution, influence, resilience, and change readiness, while also equipping leaders to navigate digital transformation in finance, including fintech, regtech, and AI. 
  • Support Leadership Development Initiatives: Collaborate closely with program directors and WWB teams to integrate leadership competencies into training modules. Facilitate sessions that foster inclusive workplaces, prioritize diversity, equity, and gender-intentional practices, and strengthen institutional capacity for sustainable, scalable solutions. 
  • Enhance Employee Engagement and Growth: Create learning experiences that foster shared language, collaboration, and strategic alignment across all levels of the organization. Promote continuous learning and professional development, ensuring that training content is culturally relevant and adaptable to diverse audiences and institutional contexts. 
  • Curriculum Development: Design and update training materials, guides, and resources using WWB templates. Incorporate interactive methods such as case studies, role plays, simulations, scenario-based exercises, and peer learning to maximize learning impact and knowledge retention. 
  • Facilitation and Stakeholder Collaboration: Deliver training sessions with strong facilitation skills, adapting delivery style to meet the needs of different learner groups. Work closely with leadership teams and program directors to identify training needs, align programs with strategic priorities, and provide expert advice on learning solutions and leadership development trends. 
  • Evaluation and Reporting: Implement robust evaluation tools to assess participant engagement, knowledge retention, behavioral change, and overall training effectiveness. Track training participation and outcomes, conduct pre- and post-training assessments, gather participant feedback, and prepare reports and recommendations for continuous improvement. Use feedback and data to refine training content and delivery methods. 
  • Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends, leadership models, and innovative training techniques. Periodically review and update curriculum to reflect emerging trends in leadership development, financial inclusion, and digital innovation. Introduce new tools and technologies to enhance learning experiences and ensure alignment with WWB’s standards. 
  • Communication: Communicate proactively before, during, and after assignments to ensure smooth delivery, alignment with organizational standards, and effective stakeholder engagement. 

Preferred Qualifications

Applicants should demonstrate some combination of the following:

  • Leadership Training Expertise
    • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in training, facilitation, or adult learning.
    • Proven ability to design and deliver interactive, adult learning-based training (virtual and in-person).
    • Experience developing curricula that integrate adaptive leadership, gender-intentional approaches, and digital finance skills.
  • Financial Sector & Policy Knowledge
    • Background in financial services, regulation, or policy development.
    • Familiarity with gender-intentional programming and inclusive product design.
    • Understanding of emerging trends in fintech, regtech, and AI.
  • Emerging Markets Experience
    • Demonstrated work in or with institutions across emerging markets.
    • Ability to adapt training content to diverse cultural and institutional contexts.
    • Experience collaborating with policymakers, regulators, and financial sector leaders globally.
  • Communication & Collaboration Skills
    • Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
    • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
    • Track record of proactive collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Curriculum Development & Evaluation
    • Ability to develop and review training materials using WWB templates.
    • Familiarity with impact measurement frameworks and methodology.
    • Commitment to continuous improvement through curriculum updates and participant feedback.
