Title: RFQ: Experienced Consultant - Entrepreneurship Training
Classification: RFP
Location and Duration: Remote/Hybrid (with occasional travel as needed)
Duration of Consultancy: November 10, 2025 - March 2026

Position Summary

We are implementing a youth entrepreneurship initiative designed to equip young entrepreneurs (especially women) in Kenya with the capacity to manage and scale their businesses. A key component of the program is entrepreneurship and financial literacy training and mentorship to empower youth as job creators and contributors to local economic growth.  We seek a dynamic Entrepreneurship Trainer to design, develop, and deliver a comprehensive Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy Curriculum tailored to the needs of youth entrepreneurs across Kenya. The Trainer will ensure that content is engaging, contextually relevant, and aligned with Kenya’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The Trainer will also organize and facilitate mentorship sessions by engaging experienced entrepreneurs to share their knowledge with the young entrepreneurs. The consultancy is for the period 10 November 2025 and March 2026, with indicative timelines as outlined below.

Roles and Responsibilities

Area Responsibilities

Program Design & Implementation

 

- Develop and refine training curricula, leveraging proven methodologies such as lecturettes, case studies, and peer learning.
- Deliver Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions for youth champions nominated by FSPs and community networks.
- Oversee the rollout of in-person trainings, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
- Design and implement group-based virtual mentorship sessions.

Mentorship Management

 

- Recruit, onboard, and support experienced entrepreneurs and community leaders as mentors.
- Structure mentorship sessions to be time-bound, purposeful, and responsive to the challenges faced by youth-led micro and small enterprises (Y-MSEs).
- Provide mentors with impact feedback, recognition certificates, and logistical support to increase motivation and retention.
- Foster a values-driven, purpose-oriented mentorship culture for sustainable community impact.

 

Stakeholder Engagement

 

- Build and maintain relationships with FSPs, youth champions, and other community organizations.
- Mobilize volunteer youth champions and mentors from established networks.

 

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

 

- Track program participation, training outcomes, and mentorship impact.
- Collect and analyze feedback from Y-MSEs and mentors to continuously improve program delivery.
- Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

 

- Identify opportunities to enhance training and mentorship approaches

- Integrate feedback loops to support ongoing program refinement.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Social Sciences, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in youth training, mentorship, youth development, or enterprise support.
- Proven track record in designing and delivering capacity-building programs for micro and small enterprises.
- Experience working with financial service providers, community organizations, and youth networks.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical abilities.
- Commitment to youth empowerment, gender inclusion, and community-driven impact.
