Parvej Sheikh

Parvej is a financial inclusion expert with over 12 years of experience driving scalable solutions in digital lending, micro-insurance, and digital payments across India’s financial ecosystem. As a key member of the Women’s World Banking Advisory team, he leads high-impact strategic projects in partnership with apex Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) like SIDBI and NABARD, along with leading Financial Service Providers (FSPs).

Parvej’s career has been defined by his ability to translate complex market needs into innovative and scalable solutions. He pioneered the launch of the industry’s first micro health insurance product at SBI General Insurance, focusing on critical primary healthcare access for underserved segments. His work in digital finance includes successfully establishing the co-lending model at Axis Bank to expand financial access to the next billion customers.

Furthermore, he brings firsthand expertise in optimizing last-mile service delivery. While at IDFC Bank, he built out extensive Business Correspondent networks and spearheaded the introduction of innovative digital payment solutions, including BHIM Aadhaar Pay. Parvej is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) and holds a University Gold medal for the highest CGPA in Graduation. He has been the recipient of the prestigious “RBI Young Scholar” award by the Reserve Bank of India.
