Women’s World Banking Institute is a pioneering hub for research, training, and capacity-building dedicated to advancing women’s financial inclusion and economic empowerment worldwide through a “learn it, teach it” approach. Our comprehensive marquee research agenda covers critical topics such as climate change, AI/ML risks and opportunities, and intimate partner violence (IPV), among others. By collecting and analyzing cross-functional and regional data, we generate valuable insights to inform perspectives on women’s financial inclusion. Additionally, we offer high-impact training opportunities and innovative research initiatives. Through these efforts, we equip our key stakeholders – financial service providers (FSPs), policymakers, partners, and the broader audience – with cutting-edge knowledge to take evidence-based action for women’s financial inclusion and economic empowerment.   

Roles and Responsibilities

INTERNING AT WOMEN’S WORLD BANKING 

Women’s World Banking Institute team seeks a student intern to support in updating the Leadership Programs alumni roster and create session plans for all leadership training sessions. We work closely with our interns to design work plans that fit each intern’s technical abilities and professional development goals. They will work in a multi-disciplinary team with financial product specialists, insights strategists, and policy and advocacy experts. Interning with the Women’s World Banking Institute team is a great opportunity for a student seeking hands-on experience in an international NGO for social impact. 

What you’ll be doing: 

The intern will be expected to work up to a maximum of 20 hours per week and undertake some combination of the following activities:  

Training analysis, design and development: 

  • Support the development of training materials for use during financial inclusion training.   
  • Identify appropriate case studies, and innovative approaches to delivering training material to the target learning audience. 
  • Contribute to the creation of presentations/training material used to deliver training.  
  • Support live online training sessions.  

Knowledge management: 

  • Support ongoing knowledge management work. 
  • Research and organize information about alumni community. Using research skills to identify alumni and update our alumni database.  

Required Qualifications

The skills and experiences you bring include: 

  • Current graduate student in a master’s program in Education, Economics, Public Policy, Public Administration, Development Studies, Sociology, or similar discipline. 
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information from research to inform the development of training materials.  
  • Interest or experience in learning theories, training methodologies, knowledge management, including organizing, creating and presenting learning content. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English 
  • Possess the ability to work remotely 

Preferred Qualifications

 You’re an ideal candidate if you have: 

  • Knowledge of education, microfinance, digital financial services, or fintech innovations aimed at increasing financial inclusion for underserved populations. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint and MS Teams.
