2007 Annual Report

October 7, 2010

The report illustrates the accomplishments of WWB and our network members, united in our mission of improving the economic access and power of poor women microentrepreneurs, and thereby improving livelihoods and creating sustainable change.

2007 was an exciting and successful year for WWB. Some key accomplishments of our network members worth noting are:

  • 8.8 million women clients were served by the WWB core network in 2007,
  • Women now comprise 64% of core network board members,
  • Core network members reached a gross loan portfolio of $1.4 billion–yet the average loan size remains under $500,
  • Two new microfinance providers joined the WWB network. Enda Inter-Arabe (Tunisia) is the only MFI in that country to follow internationally recognized microfinance best practices. Spandana (India) is the largest women-led microfinance organization in the world, and the largest MFI in India in terms of active borrowers.

These results combined with the individual successes of our network members illustrate that together we are making a difference in the lives of millions of poor people worldwide.Download the English VersionDownload the Spanish Version
