Bio

Rajat is a Principal Investment Officer with WAM and plays a leadership role in determining the firm’s investment priorities in Asia. He has nearly eighteen years of experience in investing, consulting, and business strategy. Rajat has extensively worked across emerging markets to understand and invest in businesses that are built around the informal economy and low-income customer segment. He has led investment strategy at multiple firms with roles spanning the entire life cycle of fund conception, fundraising, capital deployment, portfolio management, and divestments. He is based in Mumbai.

Prior to joining Women’s World Banking, Rajat was a Director at Elevar Equity, where he managed deal execution, value creation, and exits in the financial services, technology, and healthcare sectors. Previously, Rajat led impact investing efforts in India for LGT Group. Earlier, he worked with CRISIL and Reliance. Rajat earned his MBA from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, and BE from Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi

Rajat is passionate about the empowerment of underserved women and holds high admiration for their resilience and entrepreneurial spirit. He is also a coffee lover, an aviation geek, and an avid traveler.
