Title: Advisory Services Specialist, Digital Lending

Reports to: Director, Advisory Services, India

Classification: Full-time

Location: Anywhere in India (with ability to travel across frequently)

Summary:

Women’s World Banking is looking for a Product Manager to join a forward thinking, cross-functional, high-performing, collaborative team focused on delivering innovative customer experiences, banking services and products, that create business and customer value to serve low-income women.

You will use data, customer context, and business intelligence to build customer-centric products that solve business problems. You will recommend the scope of present and future product lines, define product objectives and requirements and assess market competition.

The ideal candidate has experience across banking and financial services products and services with specific experience in retail sales. Must be a strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture and propose new ideas for ways of engaging low income women customers via channel partners.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design of Credit Solutions – especially in the space of micro-credit & digital lending solutions for low income women that are viable & scalable for Financial Service Providers:
    • Develop research based perspective on micro-credit for low income women – the current context, challenges for women, trends & solutions for increasing financial inclusion of women in this sector.
    • Conduct industry assessments that provide detailed insights into the competitive landscape and best practices; Collect and analyze complex data in the sector that can help define solutions
    • Explore Fintech solutions and partnerships that can provide access for low income women to credit via digital lending.
  • Drive adoption of solutions- Leverage own experience & perspective to support the discovery and development, and drive execution of micro-credit for low income women with institution partners
    • Develop data driven business models for new product and product enhancements to enable prioritization and justify investments into new and existing products.
    • Identify, scope and find implementation paths for needed product and/or customer experience enhancements;
    • Establish relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business and customer needs, continually enhance project processes, service offering and delivery for partners.
    • Develop business cases for new product and product enhancements to enable prioritization and justify investments into new and existing products.
  • Deepen relationships with existing financial services partners and provide expertise that helps build new relationships and alliances
    • Partner with existing financial service partners, understand their vision, align and communicate our project objectives and drive mutual collaboration for project progress.
    • Influence senior management at existing partner institutions to act on insights & data from the field and bring in technical expertise to support key conversations.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in related field
  • 7+ years of work experience
  • 5+ years of credit product management or digital lending experience
  • Interest in the field of financial inclusion, including gender
  • Must be willing to travel extensively within India and other developing countries; and
  • Fluency in English, a must.

  • Collaborate with various partner teams to inform end customer experiences based on our data capabilities;
  • Proven collaborative, negotiation, and persuasion skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently; and ability to work with remote teams.
