Title: Client Communications Specialist

Women’s World Banking is looking for a Client Communications Specialist to help us reach and influence stakeholder groups critical to our mission to include millions more women in the formal financial system. This role reports to the Communications and Marketing Manager and sits within the Advocacy group. The role will partner closely with our Network and Development teams, drawing on support from the rest of the Advocacy function, to help create an integrated approach to our communications to donors and financial services provider partners.

The client communications specialist will look for opportunities to communicate to two of our critical constituents – financial service providers and donors –collectively our clients. The role will mine for information and thought leadership from the wider organization, for example from the Research and Advisory Services teams, and then create strong channels and calendars for communication to these audiences. This is aimed at creating a sense of stewardship among donors that enhances their confidence in funding Women’s World Banking; and influences  Financial service Providers to action to increase women’s participation in the formal financial system. The role requires a process-oriented writer and presentation designer distill complex information and who understands different influence channels.


  • Partner with Network and Development teams to think through key client communications in order to support stewardship, reinforce value of relationship with Women’s World Banking, and improve overall reputation of organization
  • Think through what each audience needs to hear from Women’s World Banking and when, and source content from within the organization to meet that need, presenting it in a way that maps to the objective and audience
  • Maintain database of prospects for solutions prospects and target that audience with case studies, webinars, datapoints and other content to support replication objective
  • Support the creation of a quarterly, calendared plan to distribute regular, relevant, timely and tailored communications to clients.
  • Ongoing oversight of content libraries
  • Implementation of targeted outbound email, newsletter and webinar campaigns (and analysis).

Required Qualifications:

  • Around 5 years of marketing communications, content production in financial services, B2B or advocacy organizations
  • Experience with targeted influence and database management
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Good writer (a writing test will be given) and attractive presentation creator
  • Ability to bring new creative ideas to communicating our work
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience producing small events and webinars

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry experience in PR agency, financial services, B2B, financial inclusion or advocacy organizations with a global lens
  • Product marketing experience, preferably in a technology or financial services environment
