Summary

Women’s World Banking is powered by a passionate group of professionals committed to the economic empowerment of women around the world. The Development Operations team, led by the Director of Development Operations, supports Women’s World Banking’s Development efforts by managing and optimizing processes to increase funding revenue. This includes grant proposals, donor communications, donor reporting and stewardship, prospect research, database management and analytics, and individual fundraising (gifts <$10K). Members of this team work closely with donor relationship managers and cross-functional colleagues, and interface regularly with the Chief Development Officer and other senior leaders. In addition, they also interact with board members, donors, and partners. Outcomes for the Development Operations team are tied to the organization’s fundraising goals, and include growing unrestricted revenue, producing best in class donor communications, and identifying and qualifying prospective donors and funding opportunities.

About the position

Women’s World Banking is seeking an exceptional Associate with a commitment to the highest level of professionalism and communication, to join the Development Operations team. This vital member of the team will be primarily responsible for gift processing and donor acknowledgement, Salesforce updates and maintenance, prospect research, proposal development and donor reporting support, team administration, and other fundraising activities. With a strongly committed and successful person in the position, it is envisioned that over time, and based on the needs of the team, this role could grow to include added responsibilities in the area of grant writing, donor reporting, and other areas of donor engagement and development. Currently, this is a remote role with the option, based on personal preference, to work from the office while following protocols. Eventually, the expectation is a hybrid structure where the Associate will work from the office a couple days per week. You should apply to this position if:

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the following priority areas and associated tasks:

  • Salesforce update and maintenance:
    • Ensure data integrity, maintenance, and departmental use of Salesforce.
    • Design, run, and prepare various reports in Salesforce, i.e.: Portfolio reports.
    • Reconcile development reports with accounting reporting.
  • Gift processing and donor acknowledgements.
    • Work with team members to appropriately acknowledge and engage donors in a timely manner.
  • Prospect research
    • Help develop donor pipeline by identifying and researching prospects aligned with the organization’s mission.
    • Maintain donor and grant databases and contracts.
  • Donor communication and engagement support
    • Support team and track stewardship activities
    • Support team with grant management activities including proposal development, donor reporting, financial and performance monitoring and other donor communications
    • Create and prepare donor-facing materials as required, including but not limited to email, PowerPoint presentations, and reports.
  • Team Administration
    • Coordinate Development team meeting agendas, take notes and manage follow up actions.
    • Support team in scheduling and managing itineraries for domestic/international travel and events.
    • Implement day-to-day administrative needs of department.
    • Support logistics for donor-related events and other engagements as needed.
    • Support the Chief Development Officer as needed.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) plus one to three years of professional experience, preferably in Development / fundraising
  • Knowledge CRM (i.e., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce).
  • Outstanding abilities to prioritize, analyze, synthesize, organize and effectively manage multiple competing tasks with excellent attention to details and follow-through
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality donor-facing collateral and presentation materials
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong relationship interpersonal skills; capacity to work effectively in teams and in diverse settings
  • Possess a high degree of self-initiative and resourcefulness; able to work independently as well as collaboratively; able to trouble shoot and solve problems
  • International experience and/or orientation

Success

Within the first 75 days:

  • Train on and fully integrate the use of Women’s World Banking systems, including Salesforce and policies into your day-to-day activities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Women’s World Banking’s donors and their respective reporting requirements
  • Develop a road map to achieving targets and deliverables for the year
  • Review, and suggest process improvements for donor reporting an proposal development
