Summary

Women’s World Banking is seeking a program manager, trainer and facilitator with a passion for gender equality to support delivery of the organisation’s Leadership and Diversity training programs.

Women’s World Banking focuses on driving industry-wide change through our flagship programs that equip policymakers in emerging markets with the tools for gender intentional policymaking, strengthening their commitment to gender diversity at the institutional level and build the pipeline of women leaders.

The role of Leadership and Diversity within the Policy and Advocacy team is to work in an academic setting with emerging women policymaker leaders, in partnership with their executive sponsors, to provide these emerging leaders with capacity to innovate, act as agents of change, and promote greater inclusion for women. Women’s World Banking plans to then work with selected policymakers in market and engage them in an alumni network where they can learn from other policymakers and gender intentional policy experts on global practice, to ensure continued support throughout their careers.

The Manager, Leadership and Diversity, will support the Director with marketing, implementation and monitoring & evaluation of the programs. They will maintain project budgets and contribute to the development of funding proposals.

The  ideal  candidate  will  have  a  successful  record  of  designing content and leading training delivery, ideally within  the  financial  sector, and supporting the development of a culture of leadership and diversity. They will be able to manage relationships with donors, policymakers and academic institutions. They will be passionate about women’s economic empowerment and eager to serve as a thought leader in the financial inclusion community. Responsibilities

L&D programs design and delivery:

  • Needs assessment: Understand leadership development needs at the institution or sector level, synthesize findings and use them to inform creation of learning content or strategic advisory services
  • Program design: contribute to overall program design based on learning objectives, determine and source academic partners if needed
  • Technical content development: per needs assessments, research on leadership competencies, and M&E feedback, create new modules that can be delivered to participants at various levels: executive, high potential women, people managers, etc. (e.g.; communicating with confidence, emotional intelligence, change management); build module library.
  • Program management: oversee the delivery of training by managing relationships with program participants, determine and manage faculty, liaise with local/international counterparts (i.e.; HR leaders) to ensure that workshops/trainings are executed properly, create marketing strategy, determine and manage timelines/processes, ensuring that timetables are established and key milestones met
  • Delivery: serve as faculty for all programs, formulate delivery strategies including train-the-trainer, digital learning, development and coaching of others who meet facilitation effectiveness criteria to deliver content, conduct psychometric assessments
  • Alumni engagement: provide oversight and inputs into alumni community for global regulators including monitoring content calendar, conceptualizing virtual and in-person engagement with target audience.
  • Coaching: provide executive coaching, ensuring participants understand what coaching is/isn’t and its value. Use psychometric instruments or 360 assessments where helpful to deepen coachee’s self-understanding.
  • Budgets: create budgets, manage expenses, negotiate contracts, and determine program fees and scholarship structure to ensure high participation rates and revenue.
  • Program monitoring and evaluation: collaborate with insights team to refine and align indicators and monitoring approach per program with Women’s World Banking strategic dashboard and funder requirements
  • Staff management: manage programmatic support staff per leadership program delivery
  • Funder management: serve as primary programmatic liaison managing relationships with funders, contribute to funding proposals, manage employee engagement, where applicable
  • Reporting: Collect and synthesize M&E findings, participant feedback and observation for internal management and external funder reports

Organizational Gender Assessments:

  • Research: Conduct light-touch (online assessment, desk research) and in-depth versions of gender audit to evaluate the gender diversity of an organization’s staff and its ability to attract, retain, advance and reward talent inclusively
  • Strategy: Co-design diversity strategy and change plan with client leadership (HR, CEO, Board, etc.)
  • Support for implementation: As required, suggest and contribute follow-on engagements to help partner institutions implement gender strategy and meet objectives

Business development

  • Transition key relationships (with leaders or institutions) to in-market team members for follow-up/additional engagement, policy implementation support
  • Identify opportunities for follow-on work with L&D participants; contribute to drafting of concept notes and funding proposals
  • Respond to requests for leadership and diversity fee-for-service opportunities including ad-hoc inquiries, formal RFPs – discuss opportunities/suite of offerings, create concept notes and fully scoped proposals including content options and budget estimate.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 8-10+ years of relevant work experience in learning and development, diversity and inclusion, HR, talent management, and/or other related fields
  • Knowledge of contemporary learning theories and concepts with a track record of applying those successfully in organizations
  • Strong facilitation skills to deliver in-person and virtual classroom training
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, organization, attention-to-detail, project management, management, initiative and multi-tasking skills
  • Results-oriented with ability to manage multiple complex, time-sensitive projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to drive consensus and influence outcomes
  • Ability to manage confidential information and exercise sound judgment and risk management
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to integrate quickly into an organization and operate effectively across all areas of a global organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel internationally

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s or advanced degree in HR related field
  • Completion of ICF-accredited coaching program, experience coaching senior level individuals
  • Certification in psychometric assessments, 360 instruments, etc.
  • Experience designing or contributing to knowledge networks, alumni communities
  • Knowledge of best practice in diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Fluency in Spanish or French highly desirable
  • Experience in an international environment
