Women’s World Banking is seeking an individual with business development skills to be responsible for sourcing new business for Women’s World Banking through the identification of new project partners and managing relationships with key stakeholders in Vietnam. Depending on the consultant’s skills, experience and interest, this individual may also deliver technical assistance projects to Women’s World Banking Network members and project partners within Vietnam..



This part-time position will begin in May or June 2021 and has a duration of up to 18 months, contingent upon satisfactory performance and the needs of the project.



The Resident Advisor/ Project Coordinator will be based in Vietnam and will travel to meet with local companies and organizations, as business requires.



  • Build Women’s World Banking’s business in Vietnam
  • Identify, establish and implement new business opportunities to further Women’s World Banking’s technical assistance projects for the SEA Advisory Solutions team
  • Work with existing Network members, prospect for new project partners, develop new relationships and secure new business agreements / MOU’s
  • Leverage existing relationships in financial services as well as existing skills in developing new relationships through in-depth knowledge of the industry
  • Creation and marketing of proposals
  • Participation in client meetings and in helping business agreement / MOU negotiations
  • Ability to run the entire sales cycle – from lead generation through to contract signing
  • Identify and build network of local experts to develop potential strategic alliances
  • If relevant, may deliver technical assistance projects for the SEA Advisory Solutions team
  • In the provision of technical assistance projects, identify and suggest ways in which delivery needs to be customized and adapted to fit local contexts

Internal Relationships

  • Report to SEA Regional Director
  • Co-ordinate with other members of the Southeast Asia team including:
  • SEA Advisory Director
  • SEA Researcher
  • SEA Policy and Advocacy Manager
  • Coordinate with the Development Team in New York

External Relationships

  • Network and position Women’s World Banking in Vietnam, including presenting on panels, active exchange of insights with Women’s World Banking Network members and industry experts.
  • Act as Relationship Manager in Vietnam with other non-profits, bilaterals and multilaterals whose work intersects with women’s financial inclusion and economic empowerment.



  • Undergraduate degree, MBA, MPP/MPA or masters degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in financial services, microfinance or financial inclusion in Vietnam and/ or Southeast Asia.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales and/ or client relationship management.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Requires thorough knowledge of more than one technical area of consumer banking, digital financial services, microfinance or specialized field and general knowledge of banking and financial services;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-level relationships with partner organizations and cultivate effective working relationships;
  • Flexible, self-motivating, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently;
  • Ability to be entrepreneurial and proactive;
  • Willingness to work on a global clock and accommodate meetings outside a standard 9-5 workday, as needed;
  • Fluency in English required (spoken and written);
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
