SUMMARY
Women’s World Banking seeks an individual with project management and communication skills and Digital Financial Services (DFS) expertise to manage a Consulting Solutions Project in Cambodia focused to expand women’s usage of DFS. Women’s World Banking will partner with a local mobile financial services provider to execute the Project.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Resident Advisor/ Project Coordinator will be accountable for ensuring the execution of the project. Your will:

  • Be Women’s World Banking’s face on-the-ground in Cambodia and will be based in Phnom Penh;
  • Liaise with our project partner to facilitate effective implementation of the project and ensure adherence to project activities;
  • Provide local DFS expertise, thought partnership, and advise on project design, structure, and pilot testing;
  • Provide on-the-ground oversight of the project. Clearly communicate observations, results, and analysis to Women’s World Banking and other partners, including participating in regular project update calls and following up on action items;
  • Play an active, leading role in conducting Women’s World Banking for on-the-ground project activities, which include institutional diagnostics, identifying and approaching local research firms, supporting the local research firm to plan and execute qualitative, in-field research for target customer segments, ideation, user-testing, and pilots;
  • Regularly monitor and communicate progress of the project design and pilot goals against targets and key deliverables. Communicate and escalate potential challenges and anticipated delays in a timely manner;
  • Manage logistics in advance of project monitoring and evaluation visits by overseas colleagues;
  • Provide local culture knowledge, market news and intelligence as relevant; and
  • Gather and consolidate key inputs from our project partner to submit regular reports to Women’s World Banking and the international project Funder.

The position will report to the Women’s World Banking’s Project Lead, who is based in Asia.

DURATION
This position will begin in August 2020 with a duration of up to 10 months (possibility for extension), contingent upon satisfactory performance and the needs of the project.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 4 years of total relevant work experience in DFS, Mobile Money, banking, financial services, insurance, consulting, international non-profit institutions or other relevant role
  • Undergraduate degree, MBA, MPP, or master’s degree in a relevant discipline;
  • Outstanding project management and communication skills and ability to work independently;
  • Strong strategic influencing skills: ability to motivate diverse groups to achieve a common objective;
  • Ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders at all levels in an organization;
  • Strong project planning, coordination and analytical skills, with high attention to detail;
  • Experience conducting field work in emerging markets, with a strong preference for experience in Cambodia;
  • Strong interest in increasing access to financial services among un/underbanked women in Cambodia;
  • Willingness to travel to agents, branches, and other project locations in Cambodia, as needed;
  • Willingness to work across time zones and accommodate meetings outside a standard 9-5 workday, as needed;
  • Fluency in English required (spoken and written) and local language;
  • Ability to communicate findings and recommendations via oral and written presentations and technical reports in a clear, logical and concise manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and

Experience and knowledge in research and design processes to develop consulting solutions a plus
