SUMMARY
Women’s World Banking is seeking an experienced individual consultant on a retainer basis to deliver select content for our suite of global, regional and in-house leadership and diversity programs.

Rooted in our deep understanding of the women’s market, we tackle financial inclusion in three interconnected ways: first, by partnering with financial services providers to develop scalable market-driven solutions; second, through our gender-lens private equity fund; and, finally, because diverse institutions are proven to be stronger, we build institutional capacity through leadership and diversity programs. Through this holistic approach and our global reach of 49 institutions in 32 countries, we accelerate economic opportunity for low-income women and growth for financial service providers in the emerging markets.

OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The consultant will deliver dynamic, high-impact content to financial inclusion leaders and high potentials from around the globe. The consultant has content design, delivery and facilitation skills with particular expertise in the areas of:

  • Executive leadership development
  • Women’s leadership
  • Inclusion and diversity
  • Development of high-potential talent
  • Support for team effectiveness and development

Successful proposals will highlight consultant’s areas of expertise including specific topics and summaries of modules consultant has designed and/or facilitated.

DURATION OF CONSULTANCY
Qualified  consultants  will  be  placed  on  retainer  for  a  one-year  period  with  the  option  to  renew annually for up to 3 years at Women’s World Banking’s discretion. Women’s World Banking expects to deliver 3-5 leadership trainings annually. Depending on the level of content creation/customization involved, each program will require approximately a 10-20 day commitment per engagement, including prep, customization of content, program delivery and follow-up. Some travel may be required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of experience designing and delivering dynamic and effective training sessions for audiences including high-potentials, senior managers and executives
  • Excellent facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and ability to flex in the classroom to meet emerging needs of learners
  • Content/curriculum development, including knowledge of latest research methodologies and practices related to leadership development
  • Expertise linking leadership competencies to business outcomes
  • Comfort delivering own content and/or existing Women’s World Banking content
  • Consultant can be based anywhere; If US-based, consultant must have a LLC

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Work with global audience, emerging markets
  • Knowledge of finance sector, financial inclusion and social impact
  • Experience as an internal or external leadership coach

Q: Specifically, the delivery is anticipated to be 3-5 leadership trainings annually, but there is not an indication if those are delivered exclusively in person and if so, are they solely in NY or is there travel to Oxford once a year as well.  If so, do you require a separate travel budget?
A: Program delivery may take place in the US, UK or other countries where Women’s World Banking operates globally. Consultants bill travel expenses based on actuals and in accordance with our expense policy (provided as part of the contracting process).

Q: In terms of the remaining items of the SOW, I charge differently for prep (which would include customization) than I do for  program delivery.  Do you want each line item broken out?  What I am really asking is if you have a template that you would like those of us submitting to follow?
A: Please outline cost per service (e.g. rate for prep, customization and delivery) as separate line items.

Q: Lastly in terms of daily rate, I would quote you at the non-profit rate, but do you follow guidelines for example, from the UN, or some other larger NGO? If you happen to have a budget that you could share, that would be helpful as well.
A: We do not follow specific guidelines set by other institutions. Budgets will vary depending on the nature of each program and the required services from the consultant.

Q: You have requested for sample work, is there any format you would specifically like it in such as an excerpt of the training content or discussion templates or kits? And is there a length limit to this?
A: The work sample can be provided in the form of an excerpt of training content and may include discussion templates, session outlines, learning objectives or other didactic materials. There is no specific length requirement or limit. You may keep the sample fairly brief as long as you feel it is sufficiently illustrative or your work and approach.
