Women’s World Banking is seeking applications from qualified consultants to provide expertise in programme management. The consultant will be responsible for planning and overseeing the successful delivery of all ongoing projects (advisory projects in field, research projects, leadership & diversity programmes etc.) and ensuring all projects are benefiting each other and aligning with overall organization’s goals. In addition the consultant will be responsible for reporting of project health across key stakeholders.

Objectives & Responsibilities

Planning: The objective of the consultant will be to formulate & organize project milestones & deliverables across project teams

        1. Establish programme management best practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
        2. Work directly with leadership and teams to define programme plans which would include strategizing and detailing scope, tasks, activities and timelines
        3. Facilitate planning sessions to build consensus among project team members regarding task definitions, sequencing and interrelationships within the project to coordinate with cross-project activities.

Monitoring: The objective of the consultant will be to monitor projects and drive execution of high priority business initiatives

        1. Regular Monitoring of progress of all programmes and flag any potential risks on schedules, budgets, resources and quality.
        2. Connect with relevant stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions on services.
        3. Implement and manage changes and interventions to project scope, schedule, and costs and recalibrate existing plans to ensure all inter-connected projects run effectively


        1. Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status & KPIs throughout its life cycle.
        2. Prepare and deliver project reports & presentations to key stakeholders ( Internal Leadership, FSP partners and donors)

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of programme management experience within the financial services and/or banking industry, financial consulting or similar environment,
  • Must have experience developing detailed project plans and using program management techniques and methods to ensure timely implementation of multiple projects.
  • Experience working on large scale projects, leading cross-functional teams, ensuring milestones are on schedule and keeping stakeholders informed of progress;
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and successfully achieve objectives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with aggressive timelines;
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, communication and meeting facilitation skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently & with remote teams;

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in proposal writing, especially for donors organizations

Duration of Consultancy
Consultant will be engaged through a contract for 6 months; with a start date in May 2021; which may be extended at Women’s World Banking’s discretion. They will be needed on multiple short-term & long term projects simultaneously.
