Title: SEA Regional Business Development Associate (Singapore or Jakarta)

Women’s World Banking is looking for a Regional Business Development Associate to play an instrumental role in developing Women’s World Banking’s business and positioning Women’s World Banking as a thought leader in Financial Inclusion and Women’s Economic Empowerment in Southeast Asia.

This is a demanding role where success is contingent on spanning multiple sectors, countries, colleagues and business lines. The candidate will be expected to understand business and customer needs, carry out strategic projects, and provide excellent service delivery for our clients and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a background in banking / insurance / financial services/ consulting or international non-profit institutions. S/He must be a strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture and propose new ideas for ways of engaging Women’s World Banking’s target audience through innovative & customer-centric communications and marketing materials.


Key Responsibilities:

Business & Market Development

  • Research and develop a regional prospect pipeline of potential Network Members, potential Advisory Solutions Partners, and potential institutional funders and family offices from Southeast Asia.
  • Support the development and execution of a regional calling plan for prospective clients and financial intermediaries.
  • Help develop and refine Women’s World Banking’s Value Proposition for Southeast Asia

Marketing & Communications

  • Plan and implement the rollout of Salesforce for Southeast Asia
    • Work with a Salesforce developer to ensure key contacts and business correspondence are captured in CRM
    • Design meaningful business pipeline reports for all SEA lines of business
  • Design systematic marketing outreach initiatives to maintain ongoing contact and “front of mind” presence with prospective Network Members, potential Advisory Solutions Partners, and SEA funders.
    • Develop local marketing materials articulating Women’s World Banking’s Value Proposition
    • Develop business development presentations and proposals for Network, Advisory Solutions, and SEA Funders
    • Plan and execute SEA conferences and training sessions for Network Members, government officials, and policy stakeholders.

Growth of Regional Operations

  • Execute ad-hoc Strategic Projects to help set up and maintain Women’s World Banking’s regional operations in Southeast Asia


Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate and/or MBA, MPP, master’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of total professional experience in banking, financial services, consulting, international non-profit institutions or other relevant role
  • Experience in business development, marketing and communications, and project management will be valued
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and successfully manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders at all levels in an organization
  • Ability to problem solve and flexibility to adapt to changing requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently; and ability to work with remote teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of knowledge and practice with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • Willingness to develop an in-depth understanding of Women’s World Banking’s business and related services
  • Interest in the field of women’s financial inclusion and economic empowerment
  • Work experience in a diverse, multi-cultural global organization
  • Fluency in English. Other Asian languages a plus.
