J. Thomas Jones
Executive Vice President/ Chief Operating Officer
Tom is an executive leader with 20 years of operational and financial expertise. He is an action-oriented strategist with a track record of applying creativity, sound business judgment, and technological innovation in order to increase the financial, economic and social value of companies and communities.
Tom has devoted his professional career to securing the economic betterment for millions of people across the globe. He is currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Women’s World Banking, an international NGO committed to eliminating financial inequities by bringing low-income women the access and resources they need to secure their futures. He has also served as the institution’s Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Women’s World Banking in 2010, Tom spent nearly a decade with the New York City Economic Development Corporation under the Bloomberg and Giuliani administrations as a Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration and Budget Director. Tom began his career as a political aide in the office of U.S. Senator Jon Kyl.
Tom serves on the Board of Directors for Global Citizen/Global Poverty Project, an international NGO committed to ending extreme poverty by 2030. He chairs the audit and finance committee and the governance and leadership committee.
Tom holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University at Buffalo, a M.P.A. from the University of Arizona, and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
