Position Overview
Salary range is for candidates based in the New York City Metropolitan area. Outside of the NYC metro, we differentiate salaries based on location.
It is customary for entry-level candidates to join Women’s World Banking at the lower half of the range to leave room for candidates to grow, expand, and develop in the role. It is common for starting salaries to fall in the mid-point of the range for more experienced candidates. We negotiate actual salaries with final candidates based on their exact location, experience in similar roles, and expertise related to the qualifications.
This role is not eligible for hire in Colorado, USA.
Position Summary
The Event Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful evaluation, planning and execution of events at Women’s World Banking.
The role will include developing the global event engagement plan for Women’s World Banking ensuring visibility of the events that are proposed and planned, alignment with organizational priorities from both regional and global perspectives, through event execution and measurements. With the aim to demonstrate how events are delivering on the objectives of expanding consideration as a thought leader, increasing operational performance and building the pipeline of opportunities for the organization.
The focus for the role will be on increasing the quality of the planning for events and associated execution, ensuring the right tools and resources are in place to support the regional and business lead terms in the execution of and attendance at industry events. The event manager will take the lead in the planning and execution of Women’s World Banking owned events.
Roles and Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Create our Women’s World Banking annual events and activations calendar.
- Plan and organize Women’s World Banking owned events including the management of event services to ensure all aspects of the event are covered.
- Oversee event operations on the day of the event, lead staff, stakeholders and any event partners ensuring everything runs smoothly and addressing any issues that arise, problem-solve in real time and ensure seamless delivery
- For third party events, support Women’s World Banking staff in the planning and preparation for the event through the provision of relevant toolkits and access to relevant resources.
- Develop relationships with key third party event organizers to identify and secure opportunities to maximize brand exposure
Post-Event Reporting
- Analyze feedback, compile learnings from the information captured through the process and systems to improve future events
- Manage the measurement framework for events and ensure the relevant tools and systems are used to track and monitor the planning, execution and measurement for the event
- Identify and implement internal efficiencies opportunities
Internal Awareness and Integration
- Provide visibility across the organization on the event calendar, supporting internal efficiency and effective planning
Required Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 5-7+ years of experience in event planning and management, preferably in global non-profit organizations.
- Owned and led flagship or global-scale events (especially for financial services, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations).
- Experience managing events with diverse stakeholder audiences across cultures and geographies.
- Demonstrated success in aligning event strategies to broader organizational goals and provide appropriate reporting.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting and building relationships with clients, vendors, and team members. Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly with senior level leadership.
- Problem-solving abilities to handle unexpected issues during events.
- Attention to detail to ensure all aspects of the event meet client expectations.
- Leadership skills to manage multi-stakeholder events and teams

Within the first 75 days
- Embrace and display the Women´s World Banking values and behavior
- Demonstrate your command of the position with clear priorities and objectives, including taking ownership of the event calendar, upcoming Women’s World Banking events and associated processes.
- Establish good rapport and way of working with key stakeholders across the organization with specific focus on those teams that are currently involved with events at Women’s World Banking
- Provide insights and recommendations to increase internal efficiencies of event management
